I knew, taking over the app, that I was coming into an existing user base where a bunch of these people really admired Brent's work. It was a situation where, as young as the product was, it already had passionate user base. It's not like finding this relic that you need to polish up and turn into something marketable. It wasn't like buying this thing out of obscurity. To me it was great because I acquired MarsEdit, and it was already this thing that I help up as this great thing. Rene: What was it like making MarsEdit your own, Daniel? Taking on the code, did you try to work with it the best you could? Did you start replacing things right away? What was that process like?ĭaniel: It was a very gradual process. I've been using MarsEdit probably as long as anybody other than Brent Simmons. I started using it as soon as he issued a beta, because I've known Brent forever. Maybe he kept some code just for talking to the APIs, but in terms of what the app looked like and the way it worked it was a completely different idea. When he spun off the app into its own app, MarsEdit, he pretty much scrapped everything. Daniel, maybe you remember this, but I think that Brent had a UserLand-inspired idea that the built-in blog editor would be, Dave Winer style, an outliner. It was compatible with Movable Type, the back end of "Daring Fireball." I think Brent realized it was terrible. I don't even remember what was terrible about it. I do remember that the blog editor in NetNewsWire was terrible and I never used it. That was the basic kernel of an idea for putting a blog editor in NetNewsWire. You want an email program where you can read and write. You wouldn't have an email program where you could only read email. I think that Brent's analogy was that it should be like an email program. I do remember that it started as a NetNewsWire feature, and I do remember Brent's loose idea of if you can read blogs, you should be able to write blogs. Gruber: I had to go back so I could remember it. Thank god, I have a blog that goes back far enough. Gruber: When it was in beta, when Brent was developing it. Rene: When did you get started with MarsEdit, John? I did version 2, version 3, and then spent about seven years, I don't know what I was doing. That was MarsEdit 1.1 when I acquired it. That was in 2007, so it's been 10-plus years of me driving the development of MarsEdit. I didn't acquire it from Brent Simmons, but it basically felt like that was what I was doing. When his new company, NewsGator, the company that acquired everything said they didn't want to keep MarsEdit around, he hooked me up with them. They weren't so interested in the blog editor thing.Ĭrediting the fact that we knew each other online, you meet people in person, and get a different kind of bond, and a different level of trust, and know people better. He ended up selling his whole company to a company called NewsGator, and they wanted NetNewsWire. I believe yesterday, Sunday the 10th, was the 13-year-anniversary of MarsEdit as an app. The funny thing is, we're recording this on Monday, December 11th, 2017. He was slowly working his way towards becoming B-Max.ĭaniel: He split off MarsEdit at some point. It probably had a chess game in there somewhere. To be fair, as well, he also thought you should have an outliner. I think Brent thought, "If you can read blogs with this thing, you should be able to write blogs with it."ĭaniel: Yeah. MarsEdit, first of all, goes back to NetNewsWire. It just goes on and on.īrent Simmons was among the people I met at that C40, which I think was 2006. Speaking of John, John and I met in person for the first time at that conference, Gus Mueller, Wolf Rentzsch, Craig Hockenberry, I think. That's when I went from being this Mac developer who knew a bunch of people online to a Mac developer who had suddenly just met a hundred of them all in one place. A lot of my history with MarsEdit I think I can trace back to the very first C4 conference in Chicago. I was a passionate, avid user of the app and followed Brent's work. Rene: Daniel, what's the background on MarsEdit, for those people who weren't familiar with how you basically stuck up Brent Simmons one day and took it out of his back pocket?ĭaniel: I started using MarsEdit, I think, back in about 2005, when I was a pretty early, to me, in my history of blogging, that was early days for me. John Gruber was kind enough to volunteer. I thought we'd have you on to talk about the new version of MarsEdit, and we'd find someone, anyone, who could talk about using it a lot. I wanted to do this thing where we did it last time with Greg Pierce and Merlin Mann on someone who makes an app and someone who just uses the hell out of that app. Rene: I say, welcome back, as though I just subsumed the entire debug run into this show, which I probably shouldn't be doing, but it feels that way internally.

There is one good thing about Nigeria, though: it's the gun-running capital of the world, which makes it a bad place to drive a passenger sedan through a crowded market. Michael: Southern Nigeria isn't my favorite place in the world to be it's unstable, it's corrupt, and the people there eat a lot of terrible-smelling preserved fish. Gameplay features introduced in Tekken 6 return in Bloodline Rebellion. Gameplay The two new characters duking it out Hidden Retreat StageĪdditionally new ranks have been confirmed (such as the "Swallow in Flight" rank) as well as lots of new moves and countless new customizations for each character. Two other stages have since been found through the games release in Japanese arcades, including a grassy meadow with sheep in the background (reminiscent of Jun Kazama's Tekken 2 stage) called "Hidden Retreat" and a fiesta stage called "Fiesta del Tomate" (these two stages can only be selected by choosing random on the stage select menu before a fight.). A total of six new stages have been added, including the "Electric Fountain", "Tunnel Disaster", "Anger of the Earth and "Lightning Storm" stages that were shown when the Bloodline Rebellion update was announced. AdditionsĪpart from the two new characters (Alisa Boskonovitch and Lars Alexandersson) there are various things that have been added to Tekken 6 with the Bloodline Rebellion update. Namco also stated that there would be additional content, such as additional stages and customization options, although it is unknown if they are reffering to the content added to Bloodline Rebellion expansion, or if the PSP version will get content that the console versions will not. However it's release was moved back to November 24, 2009, as opposed to October 27 for the consoles. On April 28, it was reported from Namco Bandai's Gamers Day conference that Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion would be appearing on Sony's Playstation Portable, alongside the already announced Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. Portable Release A screenshot of the PSP version Namco themselves relieved their interest in doing this, however they stated that it would be difficult as Sony and Microsoft would be reluctant to agree to have the two versions be different. There are rumors that console exclusive characters similar to the vein of the Soul Calibur franchise's approach would happen for the console versions. Previous to this announcement, it was announced by Namco during a press conference that Tekken 6.0 would not be appearing on any console, and that Tekken 6 Bloodline Rebellion would replace it. The release was later set at October 27, 2009. On October 8th, 2008, it was revealed by Katsuhiro Harada that Namco will release Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in Fall 2009 with more content than the arcade version. Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion was released in Japanese and North American arcades on the 18th of December 2008, with a home console release confirmed by Namco Bandai themselves at a pre- Tokyo Game Show event. Two brand new characters, Lars Alexandersson and Alisa Boskonovitch will also be included. Bloodline Rebellion retains all features introduced in Tekken 6 (the bound and rage systems, as well as item moves), and all of the characters in Tekken 6 are set to return. Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion is an updated version of Tekken 6 (originally being an Arcade exclusive). I also verified the geometries and checked for too small faces in SpaceClaim. When I had finished with Netfabb I imported the STL files created there to ANSYS SpaceClaim which made them into solids. I did the first step in Netfabb by using the repair tool and extrude surfaces tool to lenghten the cartilage pieces from each end.Ħ. After this I needed to match the bones and cartilages together again because simplification operations had created small (0.5mm-1mm) gaps between them due to model shrinkage. I specified maximum allowed deformation to 0.5mm (from voxel size of the original CT-image, the models aren't going to be that accurate anyways).ĥ. I imported these files to Autodesk Netfabb since it has polygon reduction tool which allows me to specify maximum allowed deformation of the model while reaching minimal possible polygon count. I used MC edge collapse (ment for reduction of polycount for geometries created by marching cubes algorithm) to reduce the initial polycount and then Taubin smooth to smooth out the surfaces a bit (since the CT images I used to create the geometry had 0.5mmx0.5mmx0.7mm voxel size the model surfaces were pretty coarse).Ĥ. I used MeshLab to start reducing the polygon count and to smooth the models a bit. This results in STL files 1-2 million polygons each for each tissue type.ģ. Export function in ITK-snap converts the voxel data into STL files with marching cubes algorithm. I wonder if there's a better way to import data that was originally in voxel format to ANSYS.Ģ. I know this isn't ideal but I don't see an alternative when working with the STL files. I worked around this by extending the cartilage pieces by 0.5-1.5mm on each end and performing boolean operation where I subtracted the connecting bones from the cartilage piece. These slivers were too thin to be meshed properly so it caused the errors. Reducing the polygon count of the original STL files exported from ITK-snap was the culprit, there was slight shrinkage of the parts and the connections between cartilage and bone weren't perfect anymore and this resulted in slivers of soft tissue being between them in the final model. I managed to solve the issue by importing the model piece by piece and making sure the connections between individual bones and cartilage were good while the files were still in STL format. Personally I haven't faced such trouble with DM and Meshing. I'm afraid these points are very general but they might help you out in finding the reason for such an anomality. You seem to have funneled the model through many programs, which could lead into some errors in the model - details might get lost in translation. One could also try to use the "Share Topology" tool in DesignModeler, which can point out some errors or problems in your model. Additionally, you probably should try to mesh the volume with tetrahedral cells, which adapt usually easier into difficult places. You could also try to change the "Physics Preference" in Mesh Details into CFD, since Mechanical is usually waste of time in CFD cases. This could provide you with additional information about the troublesome part. Is the red thing in the first figure one volume or several? Sometimes it helps to try to narrow done the problematic volume by trying to mesh only one volume at the time while the other volumes are suppressed. I might not understand the situation correctly here but let's try to help anyway: Arguably, this new character is just a less successful knock-off of the original villain. Each character in the world of Hatoful Boyfriend is a caricature of a certain character archetype - the earnest childhood best friend, the high society snob with a heart of gold, the mysterious one who seems to be a womanizer but only has eyes for the main character… and the villain. While this new character was fun, I ultimately felt that he didn’t live up to his full potential. Look, if you aren’t prepared for it to be hokey and weird then why are you playing a pigeon dating sim? It also introduces a new character, a villain whose moustache-twirling scheming and obsession with revenge is exaggerated to the point of becoming ridiculous, but that’s the point. This episode takes its parody to a meta level with a loving evisceration of manga and otaku culture - the very same audience most likely to enjoy Hatoful Boyfriend. The second episode progresses to a modern Japanese spin on winter festivities: Comiket, an enormous self-published comic fair which takes place at the end of December. It reestablishes the tone of classic Hatoful Boyfriend very well. There are new additions like the goofy, cute, unidentified Christmas creatures alongside the familiar mix of birds, conspiracies, and tragic backstories. It begins innocently enough: the first episode covering a laughably obvious Christmas caper that escalates so far over the top you can’t help but chuckle along with it. The four main episodes must be played in order. It also has quite a bit of bonus material: a series of short scenes that unlock on completion of each episode, a gallery of screenshots and art from the game, a Q&A where the characters answer letters sent by fans, and a topical pigeon tour of Kyoto (I’m not kidding). The sequel is a smaller game which replaces the original’s branching story structure with four sequential episodes. Holiday Star carries on in that fine tradition. It’s a love letter to the most familiar tropes of the jrpg dating sim world that also mercilessly ridicules them. Perhaps the only thing more fucked up than the story itself is the fact that you buy into it. It convinces you to accept its ludicrous premise and then dissects itself, taking equal delight in displaying funny bone and bleeding viscera. But it knows it - Hatoful Boyfriend is at its best when it revels in its own weirdness. If you don’t have the dubious honor of playing the original game, Hatoful Boyfriend has the player assume the role of Hiyoko Tosaka, the only human girl attending a prestigious high school for birds. The resulting wild sleigh ride is a worthy successor to the original game’s unique blend of comedy, parody, and surprisingly heartful - er, heartfelt - drama. Pigeonation’s high school along with a few new additions. Released in English translation on Steam, PS4, and PS Vita in December 2015, Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star lets you spend the winter holiday season with the familiar birds of St. Absurdity abounds in this festive seasonal sequel to Hatoful Boyfriend, the notoriously bizarre pigeon dating sim (yes, you read that correctly). However, Kennedy’s ambiguous electoral pledges were not fulfilled as expected by the leaders of the Viva Kennedy Clubs. ambassadors in Latin American countries and most significantly: in the implementation of swiftly sweeping solutions to the problems faced by Latinos in the agricultural fields and barrios of the U.S. By believing that vague election promises truly represented future executive orders, the club leaders convinced themselves and the club members that Kennedy’s victory would bring about the following results: the immediate appointment of Latinos in prominent government positions, the naming of Latinos as U.S. A coalition was built around one single one goal: to assist a fellow Catholic and hyphenated American win the presidency. Hence, for a few fleeting and buoyant months, the Viva Kennedy Clubs brought together numerous political and civic groups, which were already active throughout the Southwest but that had previously espoused divergent agendas. Most significantly, these mostly middle-class Mexican Americans fervently assisted Kennedy’s campaign as an act of understated solidarity for a Catholic Irish-American candidate who shared both their same religion and whose ethnic origin, ––just as theirs–– was distinctive from the Anglo-Saxon dominant culture. The members and leaders of this group became enchanted by Kennedy’s youth. Kennedy’s 1960 presidential campaign served as the catalysis for the formation of the first national Latino political organization, the Viva Kennedy Clubs. It is advisable to follow the manufacturer’s instructions on installing the lubricator.Īfter installing the lubricator, you should add additional lubricant to coat the line between the lubricator and the air tool. Installing the lubricator of an inline air tool oiler correctly will increase its efficiency. When this valve is opened, oil will flow into the airstream and build pressure in the top chamber. When installing an inline air tool oiler, you must remember that there is a dual purpose oil adjustment valve at the top of the oiler. They have an impact-resistant plastic bowl and are rated for up to 125 PSI. Installed before the air tool, they extend the life and performance of air tools. Inline air tool oilers are used to add oil to tools and have 1/4″ NPT threads on both the inlet and outlet. If you’re a beginner to air tool lubrication, you may be wondering how to install the lubricator of an inline aeration system. This can make it easier to adjust the amount of oil flowing into the air tool oiler. Additionally, they include a manual relief valve to bleed the line. The CF series constant-feed lubricators provide continuous lubrication and have larger oil capacities. These tools require constant-feed lubrication. While some air tools come with a removable oil injector plug, many other air tools do not. The maximum flow rate is approximately 120 SCFM. In this way, you can determine the amount of oil to inject without affecting the performance of the tool. This valve will allow oil to flow into the airstream while simultaneously building pressure in the top chamber. To adjust the amount of oil flowing into the inline tool lubricator, look for a dual purpose oil adjustment valve. Alternatively, you can open the fill plug and depressurize the reservoir. In general, you should adjust the oiler 1/4 turn per week, or more often if you see your tool is leaking. You’ll need to adjust the adjustment screw every week to maintain the proper oil level.
